Blog Post: On Software Engineering

Hi! I am Munachiso, I'm a passionate engineer, focused on modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) . My Bachelors degree was in computer science at NYU, after which I delved deep into machine learning and statistics, obtaining my masters at the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.

Ever get tired of tuning ML hyperaparameters by hand? Well, my MSc thesis focused on automatic hyperparameter tuning [Project Page]. I developed the underlying Bayesian Optimisation algorithm, while simultaneously developing the MLOps infrastrcuture (Docker, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows).

I also created the the SautiDB Project supported by a research grant from DL Indaba, to use ML in improving e-learning for African students. This project sits at the intersection of speech and audio processing and machine learning.

One of my first deep learning projects was a mobile app that interprets sign language spelling into plain alphabet.
